A Mother’s Prayer

Wilt Thou hear my humble plea:
Guide my children’s footsteps Lord,
And keep them safe for me.
Steer them from temptation’s door,
And light their darkened way;
When their load seems heavy,
Let them not forget to pray.
Give them strength and courage so
They’ll stand for what is right.
Help them sidestep trouble when
they’re out too late at night.
Grant to them great wisdom Lord,
In all they do and see, and
when they need a loving friend--
Just bring them home to me.
